Software availability and licensing
This
documentation lists commercial and free (often open-source or
subsidized) science software and utilities available within
Biology and at Penn:
- Antivirus and network utilities provided free by Penn (PennConnect)
- Bioinformatics software licensing (e.g., MacVector, GCG, GeneSpring, etc.) and other core resources (via PCBI)
- MATLAB core software and libraries (academic licensing)
- Office suite application licensing
- Operating system licensing
- Parallels Desktop (to run Windows within Mac OS X)
- Reference management software (e.g., EndNote, Reference Manager, etc.)
- Statistics and other mathematical software licensing (e.g., SPSS, Mathematica, etc.)
- Other scientific software offered through the Penn campus bookstore
