About PennConnect

Each summer, fall, and spring, Information Systems and Computing releases the PennConnect CD-ROM, which contains the recommended networking and antivirus software for students, staff, and faculty.

The CD-ROM is cross-platform and works on Mac OS X and Windows XP. The CD contains the following recommended and supported networking software:

• Antivirus software
• Archive/dearchive tools
• Various email clients
• SFTP + FTP clients (Mac or Windows)
• Kerberos ticket manager (Mac or Windows)
• News reader client
• SSH and Kerberized-telnet clients
• Web browsers

Obtaining a copy

You can request a free copy directly from Biology Computing Support. We can leave it in your mailbox or you can come pick it up via appointment.

Alternatively, you may obtain a copy through ISC's Computer Resource Center (CRC), located in 202 Sansom West (Graduate Tower B). You will need your PennCard with you. Additionally, they have office hours, so be sure to check their schedule first before you visit.

Finally, all the software installers are available separately on ISC's supported products page. You will need a PennKey account to access and download these installers. This is useful if you only want to install one specific application.
