overview
Students are bused to a field site where they develop projects
focused on conservation issues involving various habitats and
organisms. Students learn methods and skills, how to map and inventory
populations, and grapple with unresolved issues. Each project
leads to conservation-oriented conclusions based on the available
data, plans for further research, and recommendations for management
strategies and educational outreach in a multiple-use nature reserve.
Three longer trips are made to preserves and research sites for
special instruction.
