There is no set textbook for this course. However you might
find it advantageous to buy either of H. T. Hayslett: Statistics
Made Simple. Doubleday 1968 and M Sternstein: Statistics.
Barron’s EZ series. 1994 Both are available in the bookstore.
grading and exams
The assessment in this course consists of:
- marks in weekly homeworks
- a mid-term exam
- a final exam.
These will contribute approximately 20%, 25% and 55% towards
the final grade.
- Homeworks are handed out each week, and are to be handed
in the following week. They will be marked, returned and discussed
in recitation sessions within three days of being handed in.
- The tentative date and time for the mid-term exam is 9:00
- 10:20 am on Thursday, October 17 in Leidy
Labs room 10.
- The tentative date and time for the final is 11:00 am
- 1:00 pm, 19 December, in Leidy Labs
room 10. This date is set by the University. Please make your
vacation plans with this datein mind.
