grading and exams
- There will be two 1-hour mid-term exams during the semester
and a third (1-hour) midterm exam that will be given
the first hour of the final exam period. The lowest mid-term
exam
grade
will be dropped in computing your course grade. If you
miss a mid-term exam, that exam will automatically be the
one that
is dropped in computing your course grade.
- There will be
no make-ups for mid-term exams.
- The Final Exam will be
comprehensive and cannot be dropped
- The course grade will
be computed from the two highest hour exam scores (2x100
points), the final exam (100 points) and the laboratory
score (150 points) for a total of 450 points.
- Regrades:
exams which you request to be regraded must be turned into
your TA NO LATER THAN 1 week after the day the exams are
returned.
- Xerox copies are made of exams after they are
turned in. Exams submitted for regrades will
be compared to the original.
- regrade requests MUST BE
TYPED!
- exams written in pencil will not be regraded
- exams
with whiteout will not be regraded
- unclear answers
(ex. one letter written directly over another letter;
a ‘C’ indistinguishable
from an ‘E’; etc.) will not be regraded
- NOTE: From past experience, little or no curve has
been applied to exams or overall course scores or Bio
102. Course (and exam) grade(s) can therefore generally
be estimated as follows: A>90, B>80, C>70, D>60,
F<60.
