Professor Eric Weinberg, Undergraduate Chair for the Department of Biology, welcomes all Penn undergraduates and any questions about planning a degree in biology. Our Undergraduate Program in Biology can introduce you to the many ways of understanding the function and diversity of living organisms.

If you are planning a visit during Penn Preview Days, please stop by the Academic Office, Leidy Lab room 102. Our staff can answer many questions related to the Biology major and courses.

We will host an open house on Friday, April 13, 3:30 - 4:30 in Leidy Lab room 109. Dr. Eric Weinberg and members of the Biology Student Advisory Board will be on hand to tell you about courses, research opportunities, and help you plan your first semester at Penn.

The Student Advisory Board provides current and prospective biology students with information on the major and advice about courses. Visit the Student Advisory Board 2012 site to e-mail current members with your questions and concerns.

New students interested in biology courses should review our policy regarding credit for high school biology courses and our departmental AP policy - contact the Academic Office if you have additional questions.

The Biology department's AP exams for BIOL 101, 102, and 121 are given at the start of each semester. The date for the Fall 2012 exams has not been determined but will be posted here when it is available.
