Spring Event for Undergraduates

On March 15, 2017, Undergraduate Chair Dr. Mecky Pohlschröder hosted an informal discussion for students interested in the Biology major.

Students feasted on fajitas while new faulty member Dr. Mia Levine talked about her journey from Penn undergraduate to Assistant Professor. Faculty advisors from the concentrations, including Dr. Erol Akçay (Computational Biology and Mathematical Biology), Dr. Nancy Bonini (Mechanisms of Disease), Dr. Fevzi Daldal (Molecular and Cell Biology), Dr. Brent Helliker (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology), and Dr. Marc Schmidt (Neurobiology), answered questions about the benefits and drawbacks of specializing within the major. CURF representative, Ann Vernon-Grey, was also on hand to discuss ways to find research opportunities. To see pictures of the event, click here.
