The Biology department is pleased to welcome 3 new faculty members.
Yun S. Song joins us as the Calabi-Simons Visiting Professor of Mathematics and Biology. Dr. Song's research applies mathematical, statistical, probability, and computer science to biological problems. Assistant Professor Mia Levine is a molecular evolutionary biologist studying the causes and consequences of rapid gene change especially in the evolution of chromatin proteins. Neurobiologist Nick Betley is also a new Assistant Professor. He studies complex neuron network behaviors including the neurological basis of hunger and how animals choose between eating and other survival behaviors.
